Battery disposal

The following note is aimed at those who use batteries or products with built-in batteries and who won't resell them in the supplied form (end user):

1 Free of charge return of used batteries
Batteries should not be treated as household waste. You are legally obliged to return used batteries so that proper disposal can be ensured. You can leave used batteries at a municipal collection point or at battery-selling retailers. As a distributor of batteries we are also obliged to take back used batteries. However, our obligation is limited to take back used batteries which we carry in our product range as new batteries or have done so. You therefore return batteries of the aforementioned kind to us by mailing it with sufficient postage or you can directly deliver them free of charge to our warehouse at the following address:

Trends & Brands GmbH
Paulusstraße 21-23

Germany

2 Importance of the battery icons
Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed out trash bin (see below). This symbol indicates that batteries can not be disposed of with household waste. For batteries containing more than 0.0005 mass percent mercury, more than 0,002 mass percent cadmium or more than 0.004 mass percent lead, the chemical name of the particular pollutant is noted belowthe trash bin icon - "Cd" stands for Cadmium, "Pb" stands for lead, and "Hg" for mercury.
